Russell-Alexander Publishing provides professional editorial guidance and self-publication support for authors who value quality, clarity and control. We work with new, emerging and published authors who want straight-talking editorial support, clear service boundaries and practical guidance through the writing and publication process. We are not a vanity publisher. We do not offer inflated promises, overnight success, bundled publishing deals or “everything included” packages that look impressive but don’t deliver.
We provide three clear author services: Manuscript Assessment, The New Author Pathway, and Published Author Editing. Each service is designed to give you the right level of professional support at the right stage of your writing or publishing journey. We assess your manuscript, advise you of what it genuinely requires, and recommend the most suitable level of support. You choose what happens next. Our role is to help you understand what your manuscript needs, prepare your work professionally, and help you take your manuscript from where it is now to ready-for-publication in clear, practical steps.
Our services are clearly priced, transparent and free from hidden charges. Where instalments are available, you choose the number of instalments that suits you best, and we agree the monthly payment amount and payment date before your contract is drawn up. No surprise invoices or costs.
We may recommend trusted independent professionals, including cover designers, illustrators, beta readers and reviewers, where their services are relevant to your book. You choose whether you want to use their services because it’s always your choice.
When you work with us:
We do not:
Our Ethos
We take the responsibility of working with authors—and their words—seriously. We support books that reflect clear human values: love, kindness, respect, inclusivity, tolerance, diversity, and social responsibility. Storytelling matters. It shapes thinking, influences culture, and carries weight beyond the page. Creative freedom is important. But it is not unlimited.
Where We Draw the Line
We will not work on fiction or non-fiction projects that promote, endorse, or glorify:
This is not about censorship. It is about standards.
What We Do Support
We support thoughtful, challenging work; difficult themes handled with care, responsibility, and context; and writers who understand that freedom of expression comes with accountability.
The Bottom Line
We are selective because we care about the work we help put into the world. If that aligns with your values, you’ll find a professional, supportive place to write, develop, and publish your book with us—without compromise or confusion.
