The Manuscript Assessment does not include:

• in-text editing
• proofreading

• follow-up review of revised material

Additional consultancy or manuscript review beyond the agreed assessment is charged separately at £75 per hour, with a minimum booking of one hour.

If you have already completed a paid Manuscript Assessment with us and then decide to continue into the New Author Pathway, the assessment fee will be deducted from the full Pathway fee.

This gives you the option to begin with a focused professional review before committing to the full pathway, without paying twice for the same stage of work.

• UK English consistency, unless otherwise agreed
• tone and style consistency
• basic factual or internal logic flags where spotted

This is not a full fact-checking service unless separately agreed.

This stage is valuable because new authors often revise after the copy edit and accidentally introduce fresh problems.

Includes one final editorial review comprising:

• review of author changes after the main edit
• final consistency check
• light editorial polish
• remaining issues flagged
• preparation for proofreading

Deliverables:

• Editorial Feedback Report, including editorial notes for the author; final revision guidance including what’s working, what’s wobbling, and  how to fix it
• edited and tracked manuscript with comments where appropriate

This stage prepares your book for publication.

Includes:

• final proofread before formatting
• paperback formatting
• eBook formatting
• basic front and back matter guidance
• contents page setup, where appropriate
• chapter heading consistency
• page layout review
• file preparation for the chosen platform

• Publication Guidance Session – up to 60 minutes
• Publication-ready Manuscript Word & pdf files – formatted for paperback and/or eBook

The included formatting is for standard text-based books.

Additional consultancy, extra platform setup, post-publication changes or any other work outside the agreed service scope is charged at £75 per hour, or part thereof, by prior agreement. Minimum booking: one hour.

This service includes a Comprehensive Edit, including:
