Reaching sixty and over isn’t the signal to step aside quietly and shrink ourselves into someone else’s idea of acceptable “for a woman your age.” That narrative has had its day, so we can joyfully burn that bridge now. We’ve spent years being functional, dependable, and digestible for everyone else. And now that we’re nearing a well-earned new chapter in our lives, the expectation is that we’ll sit back and watch the world go by?

Nope! Not happening! No! (“No” has become my favourite complete sentence.)

We’ve earned our stripes. We’ve done the heavy lifting. We have the right, the absolute right, to start over in whatever way makes us feel happy and fulfilled. So let’s do it!
